Classic Black and White Photo Booth for Camp Lucy Wedding in Dripping Springs, TX

You know that old saying, “why ruin a classic?” Well, we think it totally applies to photo booths! As much as we love decking out the booth with bold colors, streamers, and balloons, there’s something so classic and pretty about black and white photos with the perfect crisp white backdrop.

That’s what Crystal and Jason opted for at their stunning wedding at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs, Texas. We seriously can’t get over the gorgeous views at this venue!

Camp Lucy is an ideal spot for an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. Thanks to Texas weather, you can have an outdoor ceremony in November and no one will complain, especially with a view of the hill country behind the altar!

Everything about Crystal and Jason’s wedding was straight out of a storybook, from their gorgeous florals by Whim Hospitality to their timeless wedding cake by Feathers and Frosting. That’s why the black and white photo booth backdrop was the perfect choice for them!

The best part is that choosing a classic photo booth doesn’t mean that it isn’t a party in the booth. Their guests had a great time posing and using the hats, and they got to take home their photos as a keepsake of the big day!

Another detail we’re obsessed with is the disco balls hanging from the greenery over the dance floor. It’s another great way to blend classic elements with fun surprises that turn an event into a party. Thank you Caitlin Rose Photo for the amazing images!

Jaron and Amber’s Timeless and Intimate Wedding at Prospect House in Dripping Springs, Texas

We love an elegant affair, and that’s exactly how Jaron and Amber’s wedding at Prospect House in Dripping Springs, Texas felt. From the champagne flute seating chart to the natural wood tableware, this wedding had a timelessness that never goes out of style.

With long light-wood tables decorated with naturalistic elements like greenery and neutral chiffon runners, the reception felt like an intimate family dinner. The family style pizza dinner by Fire and Slice added a cozy touch, and you can tell from the gorgeous photos by Nikk Nguyen that Jaron and Amber’s guests were immediately at ease and having fun.

For the photo booth, the couple opted to skip a backdrop and use the clean white shiplap wall instead. We personally love this choice because all of the photos match the aesthetic of the reception venue perfectly.

Offering flexible and customizable options is one of the things we do best at Oh Happy Day Booth. If your venue already has a great spot for a photo booth without a backdrop, we say go for it! We think it was the perfect choice for Jaron and Amber’s timeless wedding.

However, just because a wedding is timeless and elegant doesn’t mean it’s not a party. Thanks to DJ Byrne Rock, the happy couple and their guests ruled the dance floor for hours.

We wish Jaron and Amber all the best! To customize a perfect photo booth for your wedding, party, or corporate event, get in touch today!

Kait & Zach's Wedding at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin | Austin Photo Booth

Kait and Zach's wedding at the Four Seasons was hands-down one of our favorites to date! We got to set up the photo booth a bit early for their reception, which allowed us to see their reception decorations before all the fun began. The entire day was full of special details that we were totally obsessed with, like the custom dance floor monogram, their pedicab send-off and of course we loved how their print template perfectly matched their wedding invitations! Plus, working with vendors like Pearl Events, The Inviting Pear and Texas Pro DJ is always a treat!

It was so obviously how loved this couple was just by listening to the speeches that were made following dinner. Kait's dad explained that she was a swimmer when she was young, and when they stayed at the Four Seasons when they came to town for a big swim meet, 11-year-old Kait turned to her dad and said "I'm going to get married here." Fast forward and here she is, marrying the love of her life in one of the prettiest venues in Texas and we still can't believe we got to be a part of it!

Predicting the Trend: Fall Jewel Tones

A guest post by Pearl Events

It’s been a long hot summer, and we’re ready to trade our floppy hats and sandals for cozy sweaters and nights around the bonfire! This season, we’re excited to work with some of our favorite fall jewel tones. Here are some tips on how to incorporate these trendy shades into your wedding day décor!

1.     Stationery

Welcome your guests with a richly colored invite! Flat matte cardstocks look elegant and presentable. Accent these dark backgrounds with metallic copper or gold script and add a signature monogram or image to personalize your stationery.

2.     Bridal Party

A bold way to introduce color is through the bridal party. Groomsmen may wear your chosen shade on a bowtie, necktie, boutonniere, or even suspenders and socks for a subtler touch of color.Bridesmaids may make a more striking statement donning full length jewel toned gowns, or keep it understated with a statement shoe or hairpiece.

3.     Florals

Our favorite!! Work with your florist to design custom florals that incorporate your favorite fall hues. They’ll know just what colors to pair to create designs that are uniquely yours.

4.     Cake

Use your cake – the perfect blank canvas – to compliment your jewel toned color palette with wooden accents or touches of copper or gold.

We'd like to thank Pearl Events for collecting some really great tips on how to incorporate jewel tones into a wedding! We completely agree that these hues will likely be extremely popular this season and we can't wait to see it in action. Of course, if you're looking for a way to incorporate your photo booth into this color scheme, we suggest pulling these shades into your print design, and picking a really great backdrop that will match the aesthetics of your reception as well. We're anticipating our gold, dark grey and white backdrops to be in heavy rotation this fall if lots of couples are choosing this color palette!

Mercury Hall Open House

January has already flown by, and we kicked off 2017 with an open house at one of our favorite Austin venues: Mercury Hall! We had a blast meeting the future brides-to-be and guests. Luckily for us, we had the best of both worlds by being under the clear tent, which was strung with festoon lights, and being able to peek into the chapel and its stunning stained glass windows! Even though it is minutes from downtown, the greenery that surrounds Mercury Hall makes it feel secluded from the busy streets of Austin. The Loot Vintage lounge was placed in the middle of the canopy, and we were drooling over their blue velvet bench in particular! It’s never really hard work when we get to work alongside other amazing vendors such as Gypsy Floral, who was there to create beautiful bouquet arrangements for each guest, Feathers and Frosting, who offered delicious cake tastings, and the beautiful custom designs of Parcel Design Co. (Fun fact, the owner of Parcel Design Co was actually the room mate of our owner, Kelsey!) Vanilla Orchid catered some of the most delicious bites for the event as well. We really could not have asked for a better Thursday night! We love open houses because it gives us a chance to meet and chat with guests on a more personal level and get a better feel of what they are wanting at their special event. Big thank you to Mercury Hall for hosting such a wonderful night, we cannot wait to meet YOU at the next one!

Flannery & Nicholas' Wedding

Happy 2017, y'all! We are starting off the year right by gearing up for some amazing bridal shows and open houses this month and next, but we wanted to share some fun photos from Flannery & Nicholas' gorgeous Prospect House wedding on New Year's Eve! We had so much fun hanging out with their guests. We've always loved Prospect House, and it was so amazing to finally see it at night! There were giant white balloons lining the walkway at the entrance, and pretty lights hanging across the guests' chairs at the ceremony site. Kate with Wild Sky Events did such an amazing job helping pull everything together, and we loved getting to see some gorgeous work from our friend Shannon over at The Inviting Pear, who created Flannery and Nicholas' seating charts, acrylic dinner menus, copper drink menu and programs.

We even saw a few familiar faces at the wedding. Peter, our operations manager, is a born and raised Austinite and was helping at the wedding, and he ran into a few of his old teachers from elementary school! Small world!

Happy 2017, again, you guys! Can't wait to see what this year holds for us!

Green & Cream Wedding Inspiration

The simplicity of a green and cream color combination gives us all the heart eyes! Something we love about this color palette is that it looks great during any season! So many venues in Austin are either partially or fully outdoors, which means you can bank on green being in a lot of your photos, so why not embrace it?

With a relatively neutral color palette, we think our silver sequin backdrop would look absolutely stunning alongside all your decor! We would also be able to create a print design that includes a classy eucalyptus wreath or graphics of huge white flowers. The options are virtually endless, and we already have our wheels turning coming up with ideas for our next green and cream wedding!
